I am sorry that I can not travel at this time, but I wanted to let you know that John was a dear friend and a fellow Vietnam Veteran. Over the years John and I have shared our experiences in Vietnam and in life. As his pastor, I have often counted on John to help with various things in the church, but mostly John has always went with me when I called upon him to help me in the Men of Action program in Iowa and Nebraska. Together we were able to help struggling churches with some of their maintenance needs from West Nebraska to Mississippi River in Davenport. You are in my prayers and I know that John made his peace with God and that is what's important. Your family will be in our prayers as you grieve. Pastor Ken and Joyce

Uncle Johnny, it has been such a long time and we are gonna miss u dearly!! I will cherish all of those memories that we made as i was growing tall. I still remember when you stayed with us on numerous occasions and when things weren't going that great around our home, you always made it better by being there, by cheering us all up, playing your guitar and singing or just sitting at the table sipping coffee or tea and making good conversations. You were there for my Mom through good times and bad. We will forever and always be thankful to have such a great positive influence in our lives. We will miss you so much! Love Michelle!!

Our prayers and condolences for Marilyn and all of Johns family. He will always be remembered for his thoughtfulness of others and his dinnertime breakfast with chocolate cake. He will always be thought of as our best friend and neighbor. He will be missed for so many things we shared and laughed about, but mostly missed will be his phone calls with his messages he would leave saying how much he loved us and how he loved his little giant.
