Donald James Olson

Donald “Donnie” Olson was born November 26, 1950, to John and Wilma Olson. He died Tuesday, December 25, 2012, in Carroll, Iowa.

Donnie graduated from East High School in Des Moines in 1969. He was a faithful member of the Carroll AA group. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his companion, Monica Reinart; son, Bob; daughter, Heather; seven step-children; 25 grandchildren and a great-grandchild, who were the light of his life; his mother, Wilma Olson; brothers, Bob and Kevin; sister, Margaret Meyer; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Olson, and his sister, Sandra (Olson) Herring.

Per his wishes, Donnie has been cremated and buried in Rising Sun Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Sleep Inn & Suites in Pleasant Hill, with a luncheon to follow.

His battle with life is over and now he can rest in peace.
