Albert "Abe" Neubauer

Albert "Abe" Neubauer, 78, of Churchville, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on December 20, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 897 West Street in Churchville, with visitation to begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at the Cumming Cemetery.

Albert was born to Joseph and Susan Neubauer in Greenfield, Iowa, on September 7, 1934. After graduating from Norwalk High School in 1951, he worked at Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company, served in the army for two years, and continued working at Armstrong for many years. For the last twenty years he worked for his good friend Vern Debiaggio.

A man of uncompromising principles who lived a simple life, he was known for his love of family, his devotion to his faith, and his strong work ethic.

He is survived by his sisters, Marie Meyer of Des Moines and Modesta Neubauer of Johnston;his brothers, Max Neubauer of Des Moines and John Neubauer of Drain, Oregon; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Mike Neubauer, Nick Neubauer, and Harold Neubauer, and his sisters, Eleanor Ash and Frances Radke.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
