Charlotte Schmadeke-Jones

Charlotte passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2012, in Des Moines. She was born July 30, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa.

Charlotte is survived by her children, Kevin Kleinshrodt, Kim (Harry) Pendergast, and Richard Schmadeke; grandchildren, Barbara Nguyen, Kiara and Seth Kleinschrodt, Tyler and Jason Pendergast, and Kody Schmadeke; siblings, Mike (Marlene) Schmalz, William Spears, and Linda (Marvin) Verheul; her lifelong companion, Ron Grimes; brother-in-law, Jim Heying; and many additional family members. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Lee Kleinschrodt; her parents; as well as her sisters, Roxanna Heying and Lynn Anne Schmalz.

Charlotte worked for Wells Fargo before retiring. She contributed her time serving the Shrine and Order of the Eastern Star. Charlotte enjoyed bowling and spending her free time with friends and family, and most of all her grandchildren.

Celebration of Life services will be held at a later date.
