Jason Wayne Shoafstall passed away in his sleep on Thursday, December 20, 2012. Jason was born on September 17, 1974, in Des Moines, to Dennis and Jane Shoafstall.
Jason was the manager at Napa Auto Parts on Des Moines’ southside. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and going fishing. Most of all he enjoyed the love of his life, his ’67 Plymouth Fury Mopar.
Jason leaves behind his mother, Jane Epstein and father, Dennis (Rhonda) Shoafstall; his grandparents, Erma and Robert Schrage; his sisters, Kimberly Grandstaff and Crystal Vertrees; aunt and uncle, Nancy and Joel Meyer; an aunt, Sandy Saboe; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Family will greet friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. until service time.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the NRA, or the Animal Rescue League, in remembrance of Jason Wayne Shoafstall.

jason not a bit of time goes by i dont miss you.before you were born my life had no meaning.the day you were born life had purpose.now im back to square one.waiting till we can be together again.most days not soon enough.love you son.

Dennis. So sorry to hear of your loss. Don't know if you remember me or not...I'm your cousin [Opal and Howard's daughter]. I can't even begin to imagine the pain of losing a child. Dennis, Jane and family: I am so sorry for your loss. Jason was one of the funniest, kindest and most sincere people I have ever known in my life, and the world is a sadder place without his smile and laugh. Will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Rob & I have known Jason for at least16 years. We met him when he became friends with our then teenage daughter, Tia. He was by far the sweetest young man we have ever known & will be greatly missed.
I know he loved his Fury, but I also know he loved his family a great deal more. Our thoughts & prayers are with you all.

I worked with Jason at NAPA and always enjoyed his jolly attitude. He could always make me laugh! I will miss him greatly. My prayers are with his family.

I don't remember much about Jason, except him and my dad had birthdays 2 days apart. I do remember Jason being laid back, and quiet... my condolences, sorry about the loss of your brother and son. Its hard to believe he is gone. rest in peace Jason and say hello to your aunt Betty Irene and everybody else. love you and never for gotten.
