Rev. Robin J. Houts

Rev. Robin J. Houts, 60, died Thursday, June 21, 2007 at his home. The funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2007 at Valley Church, 4343 Fuller Road in West Des Moines. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service also at the church.
Robin was born February 9, 1947 to Rev. Milton and Alice Houts. He graduated from Ackley-Geneva High School in 1965. Following high school, he graduated from Morningside College, and received his Masters of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas. He was a fifth generation minister with 25 years of ministry, serving at Brighton United Methodist - Presbyterian Church; Deep River Community Church; and Parkersburg Calvary Baptist Church.
Robin is survived by his loving wife, Beth; his children: Bradley, Regina, and Andrew; 9 grandchildren; his brother Tim; and his sisters: Linda Houts, Colleen Mooi, and Elizabeth Miksch. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Bonnie Harms.
A private family burial will be held Monday at Resthaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to East Iowa Bible Camp; 1433 F 52 Trail, Deep River, Iowa 52222. Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway is handling arrangements.
