Sharon Kay McClaskey

Sharon (Colegrove) McClaskey, 68, passed away December 15, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. She was born September 27, 1944, to Gerald and Eva Colegrove of Des Moines, and was a graduate of East High School. She married her husband of 49 years, Mel McClaskey on March 6, 1963, and lived in Norwalk until retiring to Flippin, Arkansas, in 2001. Sharon will be remembered by her family and friends as a caring and generous person.

Sharon enjoyed camping, gardening, garage sales, spoiling her pup, Jake, and had a collective assortment of owls, angles, roosters, and Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Mel McClaskey, daughter, Jamie (Dave) Cole; son, Todd (Kimberly) McClaskey; grandchildren, Amanda Barleen and Dylan Cole; and sisters, Dixie Hutzel & Dorene Steele. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald & Eva, sister, Berniece Casebolt, and brother, Bud Colegrove.

Memorial services will be held 2:30 pm, Friday, December 21, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held for an hour previous to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
