Meda Lamb

It is finished, the battle is over. Mom went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 15, 2012.
Meda was born on February 20, 1932, to Effie (Milligan) and Andy Jacob Smith. She worked as an assistant payroll clerk for Meredith Corp. until her retirement in 1993. Meda loved playing cards, especially Uno and Rummy and enjoyed visiting Branson, Missouri. She enjoyed her many friends. She was a member of Union Park Baptist Church.
Meda is survived by her sons, Charles Wayne Lamb (Sandy) and Alan Lamb (Tami) of Des Moines; sister, Freda Boucher of Ankeny; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Garrison; sisters, Katherine Ruth and Gladys Chumbley; brothers, Glen and Gerald Smith; and step-daughter, Gloria McMaster.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Union Park Baptist Church, 821 Arthur Avenue, with burial to follow at Vandalia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, December 17, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Union Park Baptist Church.

my Aunt Meda was the sister of catherine, who was married to my grandfather Arnold Ruth, she was a writer, and she would write me letters of encourgement, she loved life, i will truly miss her cards & letters,she was a great cook & entertainer,never judging, i am happy she shared with me,i will treasure our time,letters& love forever,love,Scott

My mom's sister Aunt Meda was my favorite aunt while I was growing up in Iowa. She will be missed by all but is now at peace in her Lord Jesus Christ.

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of our friend, Meda. She was a wonderful friend to Bob's father, Gene and our entire family. We loved her as a member of our own family. We thank you for sharing her with our family. We will remember her and her loving spirit always!!
