John “Dick” Wilson, 80, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at his home in Cambridge, Iowa. He was born June 6, 1932, in Washington Township, to Josephine and John Wilson, Sr.
Dick enjoyed watching NASCAR and other car races. He frequented the Boone Speedway and took many trips to Webster City to attend racing events. Dick also enjoyed billiards and Swisher Sweets.
Dick is survived by his loving wife, Mary; children, John (Amanda), Rod (Tina), Jim, Joe (Kelly), Jay, Jackie (Carla), Jeannie (Merlin), Jennifer (Terry), Cindy (Bud), Debra (Jerry), and Deann (Kim); 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Ann.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 216 N. Washington Avenue in Elkhart, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of John “Dick.”
