Jerry King, 70, passed away Monday, December 10, 2012, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. He was born November 7, 1942, in Centerville, Iowa, to Charles and Anna King.
Jerry was a dedicated career man. He worked in the trucking industry for over 40 years, beginning his career at Crouse Cartage in Ft. Dodge. Throughout his life he worked for American Freight, Hyman Freightways, Conway-CCX, CF Motor Freight, Crouse Cartage in Des Moines, and retired from Old Dominion in 2011. He cherished his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Jerry is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Charlene King; children, Donna King, Debbie King, Jon (Tracy) King, Vikki (Michael) Graham, and Kristy (Steve) Brouillet; 15 grandchildren; brothers, Bob (Connie) King and Ronnie King; sisters, Marty (Clair) Miller and Beverly (Bill) Armstrong; as well as many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and one brother.
Per his wishes, Jerry has been cremated and no services are being held at this time.
In loving memory of Jerry, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to the American Lung Association in Iowa, 2530 73rd Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50322.

I worked with Jerry in the mid 70's at All American Transport.We were working the midnite shift and we go for a hamberger and a beer after work.At that time,my girl freind and myself would socialize at times! We always had fun! I would only see Jerry from time to time here in Ankeny,but after all these years i always felt Jerry was a freind! I was saddened ans shocked to here of his passing! He is now DIRECTING FREIGHT IN HEAVEN!

We will always remember Jerry's smile at Renzo's games. He was always so proud and supportive of his family. He will be missed, but now, he can always be in the stands, cheering on, and encouraging his family members from heaven. Our sympathies are with you during this time, and you are in our prayers.

I remember the last time I saw you and Jerry at our JHS reunion. It seems not long ago actually, but a few years have gone by. I'm so sorry to hear of Jerry's death. We are so saddened & shocked to read of Jerry's passing. Jerry was a hard working, quiet, yet funny man who loved his family deeply. We were all honored to have called him our friend.
