Margaret “Peggy” H. Buchanan, 93, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Methodist West Hospital in West Des Moines. She was the daughter of Creig and Matilda Hoyt of Grove City, PA.
Peggy lived most of her adult life in Pittsburgh and moved to Iowa in 1996. She was active in Plymouth Congregational Church.
Peggy is survived by her children, Beth and Bill Koenig of West Des Moines, IA, Bob and Ruby Buchanan of Crowley, LA, and Bill and Suzanne Buchanan of Rocky Mount, NC; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and host of other family and beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Buchanan; two grandchildren; and one brother.
Funeral services will be held in Grove City, PA. Cunningham Funeral Home is handling funeral arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Plymouth Congregational Church, or a charity of the your choice in loving memory of Peggy.

My father was Byron Hoyt, son of Olin B Hoyt from Los Angeles CA. I was looking through my mothers old address book and was remembering when I was 16 how we visited this side of our family. I came across the obituary for Peggy and wanted to give my condolences. I have always been fascinated with how many distant blood relatives that I have and have never met.
