Michael P. Sookram, Sr.

Michael Paul Sookram, Sr., 36, died Friday, November 30, 2012.

Michael was born April 16, 1976, in Bossier City, Louisiana. He loved cooking and was an amazing chef. Michael had a vegetable garden and loved the idea of using his fresh vegetables in his many wonderful dishes. He was very intelligent and had a great understanding of math and science, which attributed to his joy of setting up and maintaining aquariums. At one point, he maintained an 80-gallon aquarium in which he had set up its own eco system. Above all, Michael was a proud father and was great with children.

Michael is survived by his wife, Jhennifer K. Sookram; son, Lucian Alexander Sookram; father, George Sookram; mother, Stacy Spencer; siblings, Jason and Stephanie Sookram; and many other extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Michael, Jr.; aunts, Jan and Pam; and his grandfather, Gerrard Spencer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
