James Steingrabe

Jim died Saturday, December 1, 2012, at his home. Jim was born October 17, 1936, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Jim enjoyed gardening and hunting. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and Iron Workers Local 67.

Jim is survived by his longtime companion, Janet Filler; children, Dorene (David) Short, Joe (Rhonda Lincoln) Steingrabe, and Ralph Steingrabe; step-daughter, Shawnee Filler; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Paul (Carol) Steingrabe; and his beloved dog, Cass. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one son.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Lowman Cemetery in Runnells, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
