Mary Virginia (Craddock) Rollison, 83, passed away December 1, 2012. A life-long resident of Des Moines, Mary was born to Edwin and Edna May Craddock January 2, 1929. She attended North High School, graduating in 1947. She married William (Bill) Rollison in 1950, and was happily married for almost 50 years prior to his death.

Mary served the Woodland-Willkie Neighborhood for 46 years, starting in 1945 at Willkie House and serving in various capacities there until finishing at Woodland-Willkie Site Office. She retired in 1991, but continued to serve the neighborhood as a volunteer.

Mary was involved in Burns United Methodist for 78 yrs, actively serving in many leadership roles within the church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed participating in the lives of her family and doing whatever she could for others.

She is survived by her children, son Bill (Sandy) Rollison of Leawood, Kansas, daughter Karen Rollison of Des Moines, and daughter Rochelle (Jerome) Rowan of Naperville, Illinois; five grandchildren, Jason (Lisa) Rollison, Alicia Rollison, Brooke Rollison, Kelvin Rowan, and Geoffrey Rowan; three great-grandchildren, James Rollison, Olivia Rollison, and Josie Davis; her sister, Thelma Reeves of Rocky Mount, Virginia; and loving nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Rollison, Sr; her sister, Edna Sue Collins; and her brothers, John Robert Craddock and Edwin (Nate) Craddock.

A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Burns United Methodist Church, 1909 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Des Moines, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.
