John Strayer

John Strayer, 73, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola.

He was born February 1, 1939, to Norman and Lillian (Anderson) Strayer. John was a History teacher. He retired from teaching in the early 80’s and took a position with Abilities Unlimited in Perry, where he worked for several years. He later retired from Weiss where he was as an iron worker. John was an avid reader and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and planting trees. He was a lifetime member of the NRA.

John is survived by his children, Cindy Page, Lesli Strayer, Vanessa Roberts, Linn Anne Strayer, and Amanda Holste-Strayer; five grandchildren; and other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
