Paul E. Jackson, 75, was born May 11, 1937, to Earl and Lela (Trotter) Jackson. He passed away Saturday, November 24, from complications of diabetes at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born in Dubuque and lived most of his life in Des Moines. In his younger days he was in Golden Gloves, belonged to the Teamsters Union, and was self-employed since 1970 working in truck repair and eventually owning his own semis and working for Alter Scrap Metal in Des Moines.

Surviving Paul is his wife, Peggy; three sons, Kenneth, Mark (Stacey), and Kevin Jackson; two step daughters, Debra (Tom) Plate and Cindy Gordon; son-in-law, Terry (Julie) Wipperman; grandchildren, Shannon (Brian) Campe, Angeletha (Jarad Holst) Jackson, Scott (Lauren Fredericks) Jackson, Bradley Jackson, and Amanda (Anthony) Clarkin; three great-grandchildren, Riley, Gunner, and Cooper Campe; two brothers, Richard (Diana) and Michael (Deb); one sister, Darlene (Jerry) McKinney; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, half-brother, Earl, Jr., sisters, Jeanette DeMoss and Beverly Russell, and step-daughter, Colleen Wipperman.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines.
