Ya Thepkome

Ya Thepkome, 82, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012, at his home in Des Moines.

Ya was born January 1, 1930, and grew up in Ban tung gub meung cenghorn Sayaburi Laos. He was a farmer in Laos. He became a refugee in Thailand in 1979, and came to the United States in 1989, where he lived until his death on November 23, 2012.

Ya is survived by his wife, Dy Thepkome; sons, Inh Thepkome, Chone Thepkome, Kham Thepkome, and Sing Thepkome; and daughters, Yaeng Yingyoth, Vay Sayavong Hom Souaysanga, and Somchan Carrillo.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2012, and Friday, November 30, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue.
