Bethany Phichit, 21, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
Bethany was born November 24, 1990, in Des Moines. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 2009, and attended Central College in Pella and La’ James International College in Johnston. Bethany played tennis at Lincoln and Central. She was a member of the National Honor Society from 2007 to 2009. She was a Student Ambassador at Lincoln, Central, and La’ James. Bethany served as a mentor at Park Avenue Elementary and Granger Elementary.
Bethany is survived by her parents, Sisavane Phichit and Chem Chanh Phichit; brother, Chansavang Phichit; as well as an extensive family and numerous friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m., Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue.

I am sorry for your loss. We had a class together this semester, we had wondered about her. I just heard about this yesterday. She was a sweet and beautiful young lady.

I was stunned to hear about Bethany. I was her religion instructor at DMACC. I only found out about her this morning. She was one of the nicest student I've ever had in any of my classes. I can only imagine your loss and sorrow. It is my sincere belief that she is in a much better place then we are. God's blessings to all of you because she is already receiving hers.

We are so sorry to hear about Bethany. I knew her thru' my granddaughters when they went to Lincoln. Our hearts are broken. She was such a loving, thoughtful young lady. Helpful, happy, made everyone around her feel important. May God be with you thru your time of need.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know that you were close to your daughter. I remember when I worked at the clinic and you were showing pictures of her. You were always so proud of her. She was beautiful. I know she is in a better place now. May God bless you and your family and know that He is with you and your family always. Bethany brightened my day quite often. We were in Show Choir together and had a few classes together as well. We were friends. She was one of the sweetest people Ive ever known. She had the rare ability to completely make you forget whatever troubles you had. I still cant believe this has happened. I already miss her, and cant imagine what youre going through.You have my sympathies in this trying time.

Dear Chem and family, I was so sorry to hear of Bethany's death. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time. She could not have asked for a more devoted mother and she was tremendously blessed to have you in her life. I did not have the opportunity to know Bethany personally, but in reading her obituary, I could see that she was just like her mother, a very generous, gifted, loving individual. May God grant you peace at this time of sorrow.

Chem, I'm so sorry to read about Bethanys passing. My prayers are with you and your family. You were so kind to me while my husband was in the hospital and when he passed away. I cant imagine the sadness in your heart. You have such a big heart and it must be breaking.
