Eugenie Dillard

Eugenie Dillard, 91, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 17, 2007 at Genesis Senior Living Center. Funeral services will be at 10am Friday, June 22, 2007 at Fort Des Moines United Methodist Church. Graveside services will follow at Hauser Cemetery in Union, Iowa at 2pm.
Eugenie was born January 10, 1916 in Union, Iowa, the daughter of Eugene and Addie (Conant) Curless. She graduated from North High School in 1933 with national honors, and also completed 2 years at Iowa State University and 1 year at the 4 C’s. Eugenie married Earl William Dillard on June 18, 1938 and to this union three children were born. Eugenie played for the Des Moines Symphony for approximately 40 years, as well as the Des Moines Community Orchestra for 20 years. She was a homemaker and had also helped her husband with the family wholesale business.
Eugenie is survived by her children, Bob Dillard and Jean (Fred) Pease, all of Des Moines, and Bill (Twilla) Dillard of Indianola; and grandchildren, Heather, Steve and Carolyn. She was preceded in death by her husband.
The family will greet friends from 6-8pm Thursday, June 21 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fort Des Moines United Methodist Choir.
