Dorothy Lee Mally

Dorothy Lee Mally, 80, passed away Friday, November 9, 2012 at Walnut Ridge Retirement Community surrounded by her family.

Dorothy was born March 21, 1932 in Des Moines to Cecil and Vena McRae. She graduated from Ankeny High School in 1949 and married her high school sweetheart, Milton Mally on October 14, 1950.

Dorothy worked for 33 years in medical records at Iowa Methodist and Iowa Lutheran hospitals. She was a long time member and volunteer of Walnut Hills United Methodist Church. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family and interacting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her brother, Bob (Alice) McRae; son, Bob (Sue) Mally; daughters, Judy (Bob) Klonglan and Sandy (Mike) Holmes; grandchildren, Megan (Jon) Pearlman, Emily (Frank) Mally-Klipsch, Joel Klonglan, Jennifer Klonglan, Sara Holmes, Lauren Holmes; and great-grandchildren, Cassius Klipsch and Oscar Pearlman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Vena McRae; her husband, Milton Mally; and her sister, Jeannie Kuskulis.

Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Walnut Hills United Methodist Church, 12321 Hickman Road, Urbandale. Burial will follow at Greenwood Friends Cemetery in Ankeny.
