Danny Ray Jones

Danny R. Jones, 61, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 7, 2012.

Danny was born November 3, 1951, to Amos and Lois Jones.He was a lifelong resident of Des Moines. Danny entered the Marines shortly after high school and was a Vietnam veteran. He enjoyed the outdoors and his dogs. Danny was very quick witted and not afraid to express his opinion. He was also very creative and generous to those who knew him.

Danny is preceded in death by his father and grandparents. He will be greatly missed by his mother, Lois; daughters, Michele (Chad) and Danielle; sons, David (Josephine), Amos (Stacey), Mike (Cori), and Noah; sisters, Linda and Lil; brothers, David and Del; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family.
