I met Jim around 1978. He was always good person , fun to hang out with,very intelligent, esp.w/ mechanical issues or anything that needed fixed. We shared much through-out the years.About ten years ago I had the opportunity to take him up in a private plane.We flew to marshalltown and back . He had always wondered what it was like to fly,and I'm happy he enjoyed it so much. Jim was a person that would help you whenever needed. Although I hadn't seen him in about a year and a half,I always managed to see him every once and a while. His savy wit will be missed. My condolences to Skyler Vicky,Barbara,Tracy, Suzanne ,Jane ,Sarah,and to all he had influenced during his life.

I have known Jim since I was a child, as he was my older brother's friend. He had a way of always being able to put a smile on your face when you needed it the most. As I remember when I was ten & my sister was murdered he was there to help my family move her belongings from her home & Jim somehow managed to make me laugh that day. Jim was there helping me restore my home after I'd had a house fire. He was always there to help in my life during the worst situations when others wouldn't. I loved him like a brother and will miss greatly & forever. Jim was a awesome, kind & beautiful human. In a world lacking in good people it is so very sad that he is gone. May his soul sore in peace and happiness. Love you Jim.

Jim was a beautiful person. I have known Jim for 6 years. I have never heard him say anything bad about another person. He was a humble person. He always looked out for me and for others. Jim had a sense of humor, he understood optics, he loved his family and he was down to earth. He always spoke lovingly about his son and Vickie. He accepted his obstacles in life without complaining.Just matter-of-factly. That always had a way of bringing things into perspective for me. He was a joyous person even when he was not feeling great, he was still so inspiring. He always made me feel comfortable and welcome. He taught me things about optics and never made me feel stupid. I'm so sorry to see him go so soon. As Billy Joel said, "Only the good die young". Rest in peace Jim. You were a good man, you are loved, and you are missed.

Jim was a very kind and caring person with a great sense of humour. I knew Jim for the last 7 years of his life, we frequently worked together side by side and enjoyed each others company. Jim was dedicated to his job and never missed a day of work. He spoke fondly of his son, family, friends and he loved Vickey dearly. I will always miss him.
