Stuart Best, born on June 15, 1953, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Knoxville Hospital at the age of 59.
Stuart was an avid fisherman, and loved gardening and bird watching. He was a Hawkeye Football and Steelers fan, but most importantly, he was a great family man. He will be greatly missed.
Stuart is survived by his girlfriend, Sandy Feldman of Pleasantville, Iowa; son, Stuart McCray Best, II; stepsons, Eddie Feldman and wife Krystal and Michael Feldman and wife Mindy; grandsons, Jason and Kayden Feldman; sister, Dawn Lee; and brothers, Albert “Tad” Best and wife Sue, and Charles “Dude” Best and wife Beverly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Martha Best, and brother, John “Stoney” Best.
Services for Stuart will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Visitation is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m.

Stuart (possum) will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Having been close to Faye and Stoney since 1968, we often spent time with Stuart, playing cards, swimming, bbqs, just hanging out. My deepest condolences to his girlfriend, son, and relatives.
