Service Details
Edward Clevenger, 61, died Sunday, November 4, 2012. A funeral service will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, November 9, 2012, at Ft. Des Moines United Methodist Church, 6205 SW 9th Street, with burial following at Elm Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 8, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
Edward was born December 31, 1950, in Omaha, to Eugene and Edra Clevenger. He graduated from UNO in Omaha and the St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City. Edward pastored several United Methodist Churches in Iowa. He had a great love for music, especially the 50’s and 60’s.
Edward is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Matthew (Melissa), Wendy (Ty) Parsley, Peter (Jill), and Timothy (Shannon); 12 grandchildren; sister, Jeanette (Greg) Winchester and brother, Marty. He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandsons, William and Sebastian.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Ft. Des Moines United Methodist Church.

Dear Lois and Family,
We were sorry to learn of Ed's death from Mary Symens. We remember all the times the eight of us got together for pizza or whatever. I also remember the night Ed got his Mustang stuck at our house and I had to bring it to Hansell the next day.
Our prayers go out to you and yours. We are living in Fargo, ND now to be close to Heather and Chris and their two boys, Elijah 4 and Ezra 2. God bless you in this time of your loss.
