Service Details
Leonard Edgar Volineer was born July 26, 1925, and passed November 2, 2012.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 8, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and James Volineer; his sisters, Margie Johnson and Geneva Robinson; brother, James Volineer; his wife, Ruby Bueford Volineer; sons, Leonard Edgar Volineer, Jr,. and James Volineer (who was stillborn); and his companion, Delores Thomas.
Leonard loved bowling with his bowling partner, Ruby.
He also loved his job working for Allied Construction for over 40 years before having to retire. Leonard was proud of having a warehouse named after him.
Leonard is survived by his brother-in-law, Ben Bueford; nephews, William Robinson, III, and Tom Robinson (Deb); nieces, Jaqui Willis (John), Pat Johnson, Rosalin Scott (Cliff), and Jeanie Volineer; cousin, Trella Burton Perry; his adopted Thomas family; and his Allied Construction family, especially Bob Maddox and Steve Davis.

To the family of Mr. Leonard Volineer, the pastor, associate ministers, and the entire church family express to you our deepest sympathy in the passing of your loved one. Jesus hears the prayers of your heart just as clearly as He hears the prayers others are lifting up for you. So for as long as you grieve, may it be a comfort to remember, the more you need Him, the closer He will be to you.

Leonard was a very true friend to me, Allied, and our family. His first question to me was always: How are Mom and Dad? His theme in all our chats was: "I loved working at Allied, and miss it now so much. I wish I could go back". He didn't like vacations or weekends, because those took him away from the love of his life (other than Ruby), Allied. He was a good man...the best! An example to us all. I love him and will miss him! Bon Voyage, Leonard!

As far back as I can remember, Leonard seemed to be a part of the Maddox family since he was such an important asset to Allied Construction Services. This is a loss felt personally throughout our family, as he worked for Allied when my sister & I each worked there summers while in college & then also when my brother took over the company. Leonard was a valued friend whose loyalty to Allied and to his co-workers could never be called into question. My, oh how Leonard shall be missed by all who knew, admired, and respected him, both as a friend and as a man.
