Robert L. "Bob" Scott

Robert Scott, 65, died Thursday, November 1, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. He was born December 24, 1946, son to Roy and Hazel Scott in Des Moines.

Bob graduated from SE Polk High School and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a commercial sales representative for many years, retiring from Midwest Carpet. Bob enjoyed watching sports and exploring the Internet. He also spent many hours bowling, playing cards, and golfing when he could. Bob’s greatest fun came from watching and talking about politics.

Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jan; daughters, Jennifer (Tanner) Husted and Jessica (Matthew) Cole; granddaughter, Addison Husted; sisters, Donna Mealey and Christine (Todd) Kiefer; and a host of other family and beloved friends.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
