Les Gardiner, Jr.

Les Gardiner, Jr., 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday, June 22, 2007 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home where a Moose Memorial service will be held at 7pm. The body will be cremated following visitation and a memorial service will be held at 11am Saturday at the Johnston Evangelical Free Church in Johnston.
Les was born January 17, 1936 in Perry, Iowa. He had been very active in the Moose Lodge in Newton, where he had received the Pilgrim Degree of Merit. Les attended Johnston Evangelical Free Church, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Les is survived by his wife, Bev of Altoona; son, Don of Wichita, Kansas; daughters, Donitta Gardiner of Charleston, South Carolina and Dianne (Scott) Green of West Des Moines; 4 grandchildren, Jerrica, Mackenzie, Jeremia and Jake; and his father, Lester D. Gardiner, Sr. of Perry. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Gardiner.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Johnston Evangelical Free Church or the American Lung Association.
