Maxine Litchkey, 87, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born September 27, 1925, in Des Moines, to Jesse and Ruth Lacher.
Maxine was a Line Leader for Parker Brothers for 17 years. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Maxine is survived by her husband of 70 years, Warren Litchkey, Sr., of Johnston; daughter, Norma (Jerry) Ward of Johnston; son, Warren “Buzz” (Becky) Litchkey of Des Moines; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Ridgedale Cemetery in Johnston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Maxine.

We are so sorry for your loss, we have been neighbors for many years and they were espcially good to my Aunt, Jetta Burke, who lived beside them until her death. She, Maxine, stood up to City Hall with the rest of us. I was proud to know her and wish her husband well.
