Marion Sharp Sellers

Marion Sharp Sellers, 89, died peacefully October 28, 2012, at Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m., Friday, November 2, 2012, at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, Iowa, with a private burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be at Hamilton’s one hour prior to the memorial service.

Marion was born March 1, 1923, to Marion and John Hume in Old Cumnock Ayrshire, Scotland. Marion’s career was working for Principal Insurance Company as an underwriter. Her leisure activities included reading and traveling, and especially spending time with her family.

Marion is survived by her brother, John Hume of Aberdeen, Scotland; her children: Sheila (Dennis) Romsey of Cambridge, Iowa, and Robert (Julie) Sellers of Weatherford, Texas; her grandchildren: Gregory Sellers, Kristin (Eric) Jacobson, Tate, Andrew, and Tyler Enfinger, Ian (Jamie) Romsey, Kaitlin Romsey, Thomas Sellers, and Leigh Sellers; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Gilbert Sellers; her son, John Sellers, Jr.; and daughter, Marion Enfinger.
