Jerry O'Connor

Jerry O’Connor, 72, passed away Monday, October 22, 2012, at the Polk City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Jerry was born at home June 4, 1940, in Des Moines, to Donald and Pauline (West) O’Connor. He retired from the City of Des Moines after more than 30 years of service.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; son, Pat O’Connor; daughter, Cheryl Ann O’Connor; sister, June (Franklin) Price; sister-in-law, Darline Balm-Demmel; grandchildren, Quentin, Bryce, Olivia, Toby, and Cory; a nephew; and numerous nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Jennifer, and nephew, Jeffrey.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 27, 2012, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1100 SE Sharon Drive in Ankeny, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association or St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ankeny.
