Vitolds “Vic” Voskans, 82, died October 21, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center.
Vic was born in Rezenke, Latvia on November 3, 1930, to Virginia and Peteris Voskans. He was a member of the Polka Club of Iowa, and the United States Coast Guard Auxillary.
Vic is survived by his daughter, Daina Young and her husband Willie; grandsons, Nicholas and Steven Young; companion, Frances; and her daughter, René. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his second wife, Vaunetta.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street in Des Moines, with visitation for one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be directed toward the Latvian Society in Iowa, or the American Lung Association in Iowa.

Oh, the memories! My parents, Betty and Elvin Balch, new Vic and Vaunetta very well. There was always plenty of laughter and fun times when they got together. My condolences to the family.

Although we only knew Vic for a short time, we enjoyed the time we shared in Palm Shadows, Missed seeing you these past couple of years. We are most sorry to hear of Vic's passing and send our prays.
