Andrew “Andy” Burtsel Cook, 51, formerly of Osceola, Iowa, died October 20, 2012, at his home in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born March 15, 1961, in Osceola, Iowa, and lived the last 14 years in Des Moines.
Andy was preceded in death by his mother and father, Monica and
Burtsel Cook, and brother, David Cook.
Family to mourn his loss are sister, Mildred Whitehead and husband Everett of Cocoa, Florida; brother, Norman Cook and wife Karalee of Osceola, Iowa; sister, Lucille Sargent and husband Bill of Indianola, Iowa; sister, Karen York of Cocoa, Florida; brother, Dan Cook of Van Wert, Iowa; brother, John Cook and wife Amy of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 3, 2012, at First Christian Church, 300 South Main Street, Osceola, Iowa. There will be a luncheon following the funeral at First Christian Church. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery Osceola, Iowa.

I will remember Andy as I grew up in Osceola and knew him fairly well. I drove a taxi in Des Moines and saw Andy from time to time around his home on SE 6th st. We talked for a time and would part until the next meeting, Andy never seemed to have complaints or bad words about anyone. He was a pretty good fella that followed his own path. See ya on the other side Andy.
