Service Details
Raymond L. Southard, 82, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Taylor House Hospice. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, October 22, 2012, at the First Baptist Church, 607 Mafred Drive in Norwalk, with burial following at the Norwalk Cemetery. A visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, October 21, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines.
Raymond was born January 28, 1930, in Des Moines, to Herbert and Neva Southard. He retired from Robert’s Dairy. Raymond enjoyed music, the Iowa Hawkeyes, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Norwalk.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Raymond, Jr.; daughters, Valerie, and Pam (Jim) Gideon; grandchildren, Christina (Scott) Meyer, Joshua (Jennifer) Gideon, Matthew (Ashley) Gideon, and Thomas (Lauren) Gideon; and thirteen great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Taylor House Hospice.

Donna, So Sorry to see the Passing of Raymond, We will not be able to attend the funeral. My sister Debbie's husband is in Omaha having surgery today to remove a Kidney because of cancer. So all of the rest of family is there with her. I will always remember visting with Raymond.at family functions.You & your family are in our hearts and prayers at this sad time.
