Alice M. Hodges

Alice M. Hodges, 94, passed away Monday, October 15, 2012, at Park Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Alice was born February 23, 1918, to Henry and Agnes (Quinn) Neely. She lived in Des Moines most of her life. Alice was a seamstress and worked for 10-X Mfg. Co. and Precision Sewing Co. During World War II, she worked at Brody Mfg., Tromar and Val-Air Ballroom. Alice was a member of Our Lady of the Americas at St. Peters Church and the Rosary Society. She loved flowers and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fay H. Hodges; two sisters; four brothers; daughter-in-law, Joy; and grandson, Kelly Pigg. Alice is survived by her children, Fay L. (Nancy), Larry E. (Diane), Kenneth N. (Pamala) Hodges, and Kathleen Sinclair (Mark Wells); 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Care Initiatives Hospice in Des Moines.
