Nile Hethershaw

Nile Raymond Hethershaw, 71, passed away in his sleep at his home in Chino Valley, Arizona. Nile was formerly from Des Moines, Iowa. He was born November 9, 1940, to Raymond Frank Hethershaw and Dorothy Claire Knight. He was a Des Moines policeman for 38 years. He enjoyed fishing, rock hunting, and was a member of the Prescott Rock Club in Arizona.

Nile is survived by his wife, Carol Lee Hethershaw; two children, Ray Hethershaw of Chino Valley, Arizona, and Tammy Hebron (Rick) of Peoria, Illinois; grandchildren, Rachel Fotheringham, Jacqueline Grant, and Brandon Hethershaw; and two sisters, Marlene Breese (Larry) of Rogers, Arkansas, and Barb Anderson (Gary) of Van Horn, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 12 to 2 p.m., with a funeral service at 2 p.m., on Friday, October 19, 2012, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street in Des Moines, followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be distributed to various organizations.
