Francis Fae Braden Vail, 102, went to be with her Lord and Savior October 14, 2012, at Calvin Community in Des Moines.

Fae was born December 4, 1909, to Jonathan and Christina Strong in their home in Gibson, Iowa. She married Eldon Braden in 1933, and they farmed together in Barnes City, Iowa, until his death in 1960. Fae later met Harvey Vail of Oskaloosa, and they married in 1974. They built a home in Montezuma and lived there until retiring to Seeland Park in Grinnell. Fae moved to Des Moines after Harvey passed to be near her family.

Fae will be missed by her only daughter, Marlene (Darrell) Ferguson; grandchildren, Candy (Tom) Davey and Kyle (Deidre) Ferguson; great-grandchildren, Joy Davey, Jill Davey, Jesse Ferguson, and Linze (Rudy) Camarillo; three great-great-granddaughters; step-children, Beverly (Burris) Wilson and Max (Maryellen) Vail; step-grandchildren, Wendy (Greg) Abbott, David, (Michelle) Wilson, Trisha (Lawson) Rener, Greg (Robin) Vail, Michelle Coffey, and Steven Vail; and many step-great- grandchildren. Fae was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lloyd, Dwight, and Lee; sister, Ina; and her twin sister, Mae.

Funeral services will be at the First Presbyterian Evangelical Church in Montezuma, on Thursday, October 18, at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Barnes City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Calvin Community, Des Moines, or First Presbyterian Evangelical Church, Montezuma.
