JoAnn B. Robinson

On October 14, 2012, JoAnn Beverly Robinson, age 80, went home to be with our heavenly father. She was born on May 15, 1932, in the town of Columbus, Ohio, to Wilma and Maurice Coiner. She was married to Luther Robinson on December 25, 1950, and they lived on their farm in Runnells, Iowa, for 61 years.

JoAnn worked at Iowa Realty, and was previously employed at Younkers. She enjoyed quilting on Sundays with her daughters. JoAnn also hosted many family gatherings on her farm. She enjoyed working in her yard and taking care of her dogs. JoAnn faithfully attended Pella Tulip time and the Iowa State Fair with her daughters.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Luther; her children, Susan (Fred) Fredregill of Carlisle, Iowa, Honey (Lester) Grosc of Mitchellville, Iowa, Paul (Martha) Robinson of Runnells, Iowa, Jo (Ben) Thannikotu of Ontario, Canada, Autumn (Ron) McGrean of Altoona, Iowa, and January (Jim) Kim of Johnston, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; special cousin, Ruth Ann LaPointe; her favorite dog, Brett; and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, April Robinson.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, Altoona, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Powers-Warren Cemetery.
