Richard R. Channon

Richard R. Channon, Sr., 78, passed away Friday, October 12, 2012. He was born December 26, 1933, to Harry and Blanche Channon in Des Moines.

Richard had his own hauling company for many years and enjoyed working on old cars.

Richard is survived by his sister, Laura Liggins; son, Richard, Jr.; daughters, Jacklyn, Janet (Robert) Colvert, and Joleen, all of Des Moines; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; son, Randy; daughter, Julie; and two infant daughters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
