Blanche Huffman

Blanche Huffman died with her children surrounding her with love, on Friday, October 12, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center.

Blanche was born to Charlie and Gertrude Walters on October 25, 1919. She married George Huffman who passed away December 15, 1988. Together they had ten children. Blanche was a wonderful mother.

She is survived by her children, Beverly Walters-Cannon of Florida, Everett Huffman of Colorado, Dixie (Larry) Hutzel of Altoona, Martha (Ralph) Smith of Des Moines, Robert Huffman of Des Moines, Mary (Keith) Israel of Ankeny, Rose (Doug) George of St. Charles, Timothy (Kim) of Sandyville, Toni (Sunny) Sukhwinder of Des Moines, and Jodi Brandenburg of Rock Creek; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Blanche was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Earl and Junior; and her sisters, Pearle and Lucille.

Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m., with a funeral service at 2:30 p.m., on Monday, October 15, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
