John Arthur McNew, 59, lost his fight with cancer on October 11, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center. A memorial service will be 6 p.m., Monday, October 15, 2012, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, with a visitation one hour prior.
Born October 21, 1952, John was the son of Frank and Ruth McNew. He worked as a union brick layer all of his life and was a member of the Brick Layers and Allied Craftsmen Local #3 of Iowa. He loved to cook, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and pickin’ and grinnin’. He especially loved spending time with his family.
John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Becky; daughter, Kristy (Jason) Hyde; sons, J.P. (Heather) and Frank (Randie) McNew; 19 grandchildren; 2 great-granddaughters; mother, Ruth McNew; and siblings, Gary (Charlene) McNew, Sheryl (Donnie) Harding, and Joel (Ruth) McNew. John was preceded in death by his father, Frank; son, J.D. Moore; brothers, Lonnie and Steve; and sister, Bonnie.

Becky and Christy, Jp,Frank, I am so sorry to hear about john,I just found out today from beck, my heart hurts for you guys, back in the day the ORIGINAL club 2000 wouldn't of been the same without him. He loved to tease me. My prayers are with you guys.
