Roy McMurrary

Roy McMurray, 94, died Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Hamilton’s Southtown, 5400 S.W. 9th St. with burial at Banta Cemetery in Sewal, IA. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Roy was born July 15, 1912 in Des Moines to Roy and Lillian (Harris) McMurray. He married Lois Weeks in 1952. Roy retired from the City of Des Moines after 28 years of service. He was a handyman around the house and he enjoyed hunting.
Roy is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Smith; son, Maurice McMurray; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Lois; his parents; sister, Florence; and brothers, Clifford and Harold.
