My deepest sympathy to Susans family. I only learned of her illness about 3 weeks ago. I was so saddened by the news.
I have known Susan for as long as I can remember. We grew up together as neighbors. I dont remember a time when she didnt live in that little house on Aurora. Except I dont think she was born there. But, as with all the kids Susan and I grew up with, it seems as though they always lived there.
Susan loved to tell the story of when I convinced her that I could carry her across my driveway and not drop her in the cinders. I really did think I could do it but as Susan would tell you, I could not! She never let me live it down.
Susan had a pony named Ginger, and we all enjoyed riding her. Susan was always willing to share the rides. I imagine her dad got a little weary but we kids sure didnt.
I remember being invited to join her family on Sundays to attend church, being asked to supper and a cruise on the house boat her dad built. I always had fun when I was with her. She was always easy going and kind.
After marrying and having families we didnt keep close contact but, when we did run into one another we certainly enjoyed catching up. I will miss those encounters.
My God bless each and every one of you and ease your grief. I will keep you in my prayers.

This was a real shocker to me since I have generally been out of contact with "the Oxenfords" for many years. I know Susan and her family from many, many years ago when she was a child care provider to my children. I always felt she was much more than that though. It always felt so good knowing this kind, intelligent, loving woman was in charge of my children. I give Susan (and the whole family) so much credit for helping my children to grow up to be such good adults. I always enjoyed bumping into her over the years and she has a very special place in my heart and in the heart of my family. My condolences to the family, as I know she is missed and loved by so many.

So sorry to hear of Susan's passing on Sunday. She was a wonderful neighbor and a great friend. We shared many things these past 25 yrs, inlcuding our mutual love of animals. We will miss her deeply. She is at peace now and in that we find comfort. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

So sorry to hear the news. Susan was a classmate. I knew her for many years, grade school forward. She was talented in many ways and always had everyone else's good interests at heart. She will be missed by many. But she suffers no more.
