Delmar Barnes

Delmar Barnes, Jr., 71, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012, at the Prime Towers in Des Moines. He was born January 9, 1941, in Jefferson, Iowa, to Delmar, Sr., and LaVoun Glenore Outtrim.

Delmar was employed with the City of Des Moines for over 20 years, retiring in 2003.

Delmar is survived by his daughters, Connie and Julie Barnes; granddaughter, Bethany Barnes and great-grandson, Noah Wilson; as well as his brother, Larry Barnes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Barnes.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, with burial at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola, Iowa. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
