Pam,Heidi and Deana- What can I say, I was shocked to hear the news! I met Dean as my biology teacher in Nevada back around 1962. He and Pam lived in the same apartment complex off main street where my grandmother lived also. He drove a brand new 1964 2 door silver chevy impala!! It was a nice set of wheels! Then I next met up with Dean in Des Moines when my son was sick with leukemia, Dean was a micro-bioligist at Drake and was a friend of our son's Dr. Steve Elliott. Then we crossed paths when my daughter played softball at SDM with Deana, and Pam taught Marla at Brody Jr. High. It was fun alway visiting @ Skips talking fishing on Oahe one of Dean's favorites to fish!!!
Marla,Kathy and I feel very blessed to have know Dean, what a wonderful gentleman!
I know and feel your pain and will pray to the lord to help you through this very tough time in your lives.God Bless you all!

Dear Heidi and Deana: I was so sad to read about the passing of your Dad. I didn't know him very well but I rate he and your Mom among my finest basketball parents. Their support for you as you played for your respective basketball teams was always positive and sincere. I'm sure he was a great father since he raised two such fine daughters. My heartfelt condolences to you and your Mom.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. Dean was such a quiet man. He was always so positive, when it came to teaching the game of softball. I'am sure he was the same in the class room. I just know him and mac are already scouting players for their "ANGELS" team in heaven. God Bless all of you.

Dean was one of the most positive and quiet coaches I ever had, which made him awesome!!! His ability to coach and instruct girls towards greatness was a testament to his desire to encourage and empower. His grace in the coaches box is unmatched and like his life, no box could confine his spirit or achievements. I am so sorry for your loss and know you are in my thoughts. While your loss is great. There are many who walk in this world that hope to make a difference to one person, where Dean has impacted the lives of countless.

Dean came and did a sabbatical with me at Iowa State University about 1990. He was an inquisative person, a good lab member and all the students and I enjoyed having him work with us. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
