On September 1, 2012, he passed away at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa.
Those left to celebrate his life of sixty-seven years are his wife Nancie, his two children and their families, and three grandchildren. They and their families are: Brenda (Alex Hebert) Renaud and Todd (Karen) Renaud and their three children: Connor, Dylan, and Madeline.

I worked with Nancie at NeoData In Knoxville. We took turns driving to work and Mr. Renaud always had my car cleared of snow when I would leave it parked at their house.
He drove us to work one time when the weather was treacherous. My condolences to the family. You are in my thoughts.

I worked with Laverne at John Deere. It was a pleasure to have a co worker who was so friendly and easy to get along with. I know our team in Dept. 150 have missed him. I know he will be missed by many.

Dear Nancie, Brenda, and Todd, Gail and I are so sorry to hear of Laverne's passing. He was such a great guy. We had a great time over the years teaching in the same building, playing basketball on so many Wed. evenings and of course at the annual Lincoln Middle School Men's Stag. I think about the baked beans incident frequently. He will be missed by all who knew him.

So sorry to read about LaVerne's passing in the Ottumwa Courier. I have great memories of working and teaching with LaVerne at Lincoln in the late 70's and 80's. He was a good basketball player as well, even at our "advanced ages" at the time ( that's probably what the junior high kids thought about us, at least until we drubbed them at the end of year scrimmage). Was great to have him at the end of school year get-togethers as well. LaVerne was a kind and humble man. My thoughts are with you..

Dear Nancie, Brenda, and Todd,
Diana and I are saddened to hear of the death of our friend and fellow teacher. He was a man who was dedicated to his church, work and his family, and he never had a bad word to say about anyone. He will be missed, but he lives on in his wonderful children and grandchildren. We are thinking and praying for you all.

Nancie, So sorry to hear of LaVerne's passing. Just seeing his name brought up great memories of Jefferson School and his fourth grade classroom. He was a person I could always count on. He also helped us, on a few occasions, with haying (small squares). Our sympathy is with you and your family.
