Service Details
Joseph T. Chiodo, 74, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at the Regency Care Center in Norwalk. Joseph was born May 10, 1938, to Michele and Rose Chiodo in Des Moines Iowa.
Joseph served in the US Army, was an avid salesman, and had a great love for horses and dogs.
He is survived by his children, Lisa and Michael Chiodo, sister, Mary Fran Hohn, and brother, Ned Chiodo.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 27, 2012, at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be directed toward the family in loving memory of Joseph.

For the family of Joe Chiodo,
I went to Des Moines in 1958 after graduating. I landed in the Woodland ave area along with many other girls seeking their careers. It was there I met a young pots and pan salesman named Joe Chiodo. I had begun to work at a place called the Woodland Sundries and Joe was acquainted with the owner and a lady and her daughter that worked there. Although I bought my set of pans from another salesman, each one of these "boys" made an impression, that kept them in my memories for many years. I can still remember Joes energy as he bounded in to grab a sandwich and visit a bit before planning his schedule of potential sales. I have not seen or heard of Joe for many years, but thought of him each time his brother was in the news. He was a gentleman, and always left you with a good feeling. I understand the loss you are feeling, but know that the memories will keep him beside you always. Please forgive my message.

Lisa and family,
We are so very sorry for your loss. Although, we never had the honor of meeting your father, we know he was a wonderful person as we see him through you. Our hearts go out to you. Until you lose a parent, it is hard to understand the depth of grief and sorrow. Deb and Craig
