Dolores M. Maxson

Dolores died August 14, 2012 at Fleur Heights Care Hospice Facility at the age of 95. Dee as she preferred, was born in Algona, Iowa. She graduated from Belmond High School and beauty school. She worked as a beautician in Fort Dodge where she met and married Don Maxson in 1949.

Don and Dee moved to Des Moines in 1952, where she was employed by Meredith Publishing for over 28 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don and her very best friend, Doris Stout. Dee is survived by several nieces and nephews and her friend and confidant, Jim and Allene Cooper.

Dee’s body will be cremated and her cremated remains will be buried at Hillside Cemetery in Marble Rock, Iowa. Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home will handle all arrangements.
