Geneva Calkins

Geneva Calkins, 85, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012, at Ramsey Village. She was born April 19, 1927, in Mt. Olive, Arkansas, to William and Nora Sartin.

Geneva was an active member of Easton Place United Methodist Church and Esther Circle. She loved her dogs, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Geneva is survived by her loving husband of almost 65 years, Oscar; daughters, Judy McDowell and Sandra Bemis; son, Lester (Marilyn) Miller; five grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna Mascaro and Juanita Smith; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, a sister, and her granddaughter, Laura Zumbrunnen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 16, 2012, at Easton Place United Methodist Church, 2412 Easton Blvd., followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
