Marvin Donald Brandt

Marvin Donald Brandt, “Marvelous Marv,” was born June 7, 1951.
He passed away at his Booneville, IA home on August 10, 2012.

Honoring his memory are brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Kim Brandt (Puyallup, WA); brother, George Brandt (Redmond WA); sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Ted Olson (Sidney, BC, Canada); sister, Denise Salerno (Madison WI); good friend, Todd Smith (Grimes IA); and his extended YRC Freight family (Yellow Freight, Des Moines IA).

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Brandt and Darlene Durand.

Marv was a natural on the phone with customers but happiest when he was fishing or writing poetry. He had a special place in his heart for his beloved cats as well as any neighborhood strays. Marv loved to tell stories and jokes that were less than politically correct. He loved snacking on Cheetos. Friends can still picture him at his desk, trying to “hide” the rustling bag as he enjoyed them between calls.

His body was cremated and no services are planned.

He is greatly missed and fondly remembered.
