Service Details
Scott Allen Sevde, 56, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 5, 2012. Scott was born on June 24, 1956, in Jefferson, Iowa, to Jean (Brown) and Lester Sevde. He grew up in Scranton, Iowa, where he attended and graduated from high school. Scott previously managed Cosi Cucina in Des Moines. He enjoyed drawing house plans, camping and being outdoors, eating out, and will always be remembered as a sharp dresser.
Scott is survived by his children, Tyler Sevde, Derek Sevde, Amy Hughes, and Stacey Sevde; five grandchildren; mother, Jean Sevde; and sisters, Sarah Loeffler and Sandy Schulte. He is preceded in death by his father, Lester Sevde.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with a visitation period for two hours prior to the service. Burial of cremated remains will occur at a later date at the Jefferson Cemetery.

My deepest sympathy to Scott's family. I am so sorry for your loss. Seeing Scott's photo brought back good memories of fun times growing up as neighbors and classmates. Scott was fun to be around, that's for sure! He will be missed!

The news of Scott's passing also reached me too late to attend his services. My heart is broken and my deepest sympathies go out to Scott's family. Scott was a true friend to me and I look back at the days I worked for Scott as some of the best of my life. I will always remember Scott as a hard-working, warm, and thoughtful friend who would bend over backwards for anyone. When I think of Scott, I think of his laugh, the perfect way he could tie a windsor knot, and the loving way he talked about his family. I will miss Scott greatly and I wish I would have had more time to let him know how important he was. To the Sevde Family, you are in my thoughts and prayers and my heart goes out to you. I am so sorry for your loss.

I also worked with Scott at the Metz. The news of his passing reached me too late to attend the services. I was and am so sad. My memories are all good of Scott, he made us laugh, he was such a hard worker and a team player and if I or any of his co-workers needed a hand he was always right there. He loved to talk about his family which he adored, I remember one story in particular that had us all laughing, it had to do with the kitchen window, a garden hose and the boys, Derick in particular if I remember right.
Each of us left the Metz as time went on, but we tried to keep in touch. When the Metz closed our boss Mike Stienmetz moved back to Holland but once a year he would return to Iowa and we would all meet at Francies. We always had a good time reminiscing about the days at the Metz. Scott truly was a great guy. So sorry for your pain and loss.

To Scotts children, I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. I worked with him at The Metz downtown many years ago. (Stacey,I don't know if you remember me, but I worked with you for a short period of time as well.) I hope you all know how much your Dad loved you all. He always had funny stories to tell about all of you when you were young. He was a good guy,and I am proud to have called him my Friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

To the Sevde family with deepest sympathy. Scott was my long time friend and room mate at College. Scott and i have kept in touch for years. Scott will be so missed. I have nothing but great memories of him and the time we spent together over the years. My heart go's out to you all.

I have good memories of the many times Scott and I visited together and I pray for God's peace and comfort for all his family and friends. Scott assured me, several times, he knew Christ as his Savior and I tried to help him through some of his personal situations and struggles. He will be remembered with appreciation for his life and friendship.
